I am in need of rental / eviction assistance in the state of Maryland.
I am 33 and my husband is turning 30 6/3. Normally we are able to meet all our bills, but fell into some rough months. My husband is currently unemployed, laid off like a large percent of the nation. I am employed and have good job security, I work in collections, one of the business thriving :)
We have three children, (ages 11, 7, and 11 weeks). My husband was laid off from a job 2 months before the baby was due from a that he had been at for over 4 years. I had to go out and locate a job in this economy right after the baby was born. I thankfully was able to find a job just last week. The money we had saved up as our nest egg and his unemployment was blown in just a couple of months paying for bills and utilities during the time we have been off work.
While the bills and such have been met, we have fallen behind on the rent, and are facing eviction. I have been to the Salvation Army, but my appointment for intake is scheduled for 7/8 too far away, the other charities are dried up as far as funds. I have been to DSS and have received a small amount of assistance but it wasn't enough to cover a full month of rent. My husband is at home during the days calling churches for assistance.
My family is of no help, as they are on hard times as well.
